Nemanja Ostoich has so far performed in 19 countries on four continents. As a soloist, he has performed with Bilkent Symphony Orchestra (Ankara, Turkey), Buffalo Philharmonic, Athens Chamber Orchestra, Belgrade Philharmonic, Saint George Strings and Allentown Symphony, collaborating with conductors like Petar Ivanovic, Bujor Hoinic, Dianne Wittry, JoAnn Falletta and Leo Brouwer.
A masterful and musical player, Nemanja has been the gold medalist or the top prizewinner in more than fifteen major international guitar competitions around the world. The list includes: Niccolo Paganini (Parma, Italy), Sinaya Guitar Competition (Sinaya, Romania), Volos Guitar Festival (Greece), Guitar Competition Anna Amalia (Weimar, Germany), Texas Guitar Competition (Dallas, TX), Schadt String Competition (Allentown, PA), South West Guitar Festival & International Competition (San Antonio, TX), Boston Guitar Fest, JoAnn Falleta International Guitar Concerto Competition (Buffalo, NY), etc.
A native of Serbia, Nemanja Ostoich has graduated from Music High School Kosta Manojlovic in the class of Professor Bosko Radojkovic and soon received his Bachelor Degree in Music from the University of Belgrade studying with Professor Srdjan Tosic. Nemanja has completed both the Masters Degree and the Artist Diploma Program at Jacobs School of Music, Indiana University, Bloomington, under the guidance of Maestro Ernesto Bitetti, where he is currently completing the Doctor in Musical Arts program.
A recent career highlight was performing Rodrigo’s "Concierto de Aranjuez" with the Athens Chamber Orchestra (Greece), under the baton of Leo Brouwer. Nemanja was selected to substitute for the legendary Grammy Award winning guitarist John Williams who had to withdraw from this performance at the 5th Guitar Art Festival in Belgrade, Serbia.
His 2009 debut CD Album “First Born” presents 20th century music for classical guitar, from Barrios and Moreno-Torroba, to Brouwer and Koshkin, and it has received rave reviews, internationally.
Nemanja Ostoich’s live DVD from Palazzina Liberty, in Milan, Italy, was published in 2007 under the “La Guitarra” label.
Nemanja has made dozens NPR and TV recordings in many European countries, as well as in the United States.
Currently residing in the United States, Nemanja is pursuing his career as a prominent performer. His charm on stage and the talent to enchant his audiences maybe best described in the newspaper, The Morning Call (Allentown, PA):
Nemanja approached Tedesco’s “Concerto No.1 for Guitar” with effortless
grace and fluid tenderness. Always in perfect balance with the orchestra, he
brought out all the romance and lyricism of the piece with an economy of
emotion that belied the passion of his delivery.
